GIFT AFTERNOON
TE PUKE PARTY FOR BRIDE-ELECT MRS. F. BOSTOCK. IS HOSTESS Arrs. F. Bostoek, of Te Puke, enteri tained a number of guests at a gift afternoon for Atiss Dora Vercoe, who is shortly to be married. Airs. Bostoek received the guests in the drawingroom. which looked very gay with large bowls of anemones and spring bulbs. Airs. Todd gave several songs during j the afternoon, and Aliss W. Harris acted a 9 accompanist. Much amusement was caused by a musical competition, the guests having to sing various songs. Aliss Kate Jamieson received first prize for her effort. After afternoon tea. the bride-elect opened the gifts, and briefly thanked those present for the happy afternoon she had spent among them. Mrs. Bostoek wore beige crepe de chine, and the bride-elect looked charming in figured gentian blue crepe de chine, with hat to tone. Those present were:—Alesdames Earp. Wilsone, Anderson. Jamieson. C. Jamieson (New Plymouth). Tod, Keys, Morton, Cash more, F. Palmer, T. Palmer, Butcher. Alark, Yercoe. AtcGhie.Brownlee. Wilkie, Houston, Warnock. and Ryburn: and Alisses C. Wilson, Morton, Galbraith, Mark, Jamieson, and Harris.
