FATAL BURNS
CHILD’S PAPER COSTUME CAUGHT FIRE DIED IN HOSPITAL Press Association HAWERA, Today. After being dressed in a costume made of paper and light woollen material to attend a children’s fancy dress ball last evening Morris Trilford, aged five years, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Trilford, of Ohangai, came into contact with a naked light in the house. His clothes flared up and the child suffered severe burns. JJE was admitted to hospital at seven o’clock last evening and died at six o’clock this morning. He was the youngest of a young family of five children. Both his mother and father were severely burned In endeavouring to smother the flames.
