MUSICIANS’ CONCERT
ST. JAMES ON SUNDAY EVENING The Auckland Musicians’ Union’s ■ grand orchestral concert will be given j in the St. James Theatre tomorrow i (Sunday) evening. An excellent programme has been | arranged, including songs by Miss M. | Clague and Mr. Barry Coney, and I cornet solo and violin solo. The or- ■ chestra will play the overture “Ray- | mond,” “Them© and Diversion” (Ger- I man) excerpts from “Elijah” (Men- i dclssobn) and the ton© poem, “Fin- j landia ’ (Sibelius). Two interesting 1 items should bo Schubert’s “Cradle Song, by the strings only, and “Lo, ; Here the Gentle Lark” (Bishop), by ' tho flute and clarinet. Mr. Colin Muston, L.R.A.M. is the ; conductor.
; A J} all-talking: picture, ' The Return i Sherlock Holmes,” introducing the I Conan Doyle character for the time through the medium of the ; screen, ■wil* be produced by I Paramount shortly in Hollywood. Clive . Hrook is to play the role of the l detective.
