Reduced Profits for Howard Smith The directors of Howard Smith, Ltd., announce a reduced interim dividend for the half-year at the rate of 2s per i cent - on tiie ordinary capital. The company paid 7$ per cent, on last year’s operations, and 10 per cent, back to 192 j. Until the last two vears it had not returned less than 10 per cent to shareholders. The reason for a further reduction this year is stated to be the idleness since March 2 of the mines of the Caledonia Collieries.
