REV. DR. JOHN BURGESS DEAD Reed. 9.40 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. The death has occurred of the Rev. Dr. John Burgess, one of the most prominent ministers of the Presbyterian Church in Australia, aged 74. Dr. Burgess was born at Laurencekirk. Scotland, and educated at Aberdeen University and the Free Church College, Aberdeen. In 1910 he was made a D.D. of St. Andrew’s. He had been -Moderator of the New South Mr ales General Assembly. Five of his sons served in the Great War, one being killed in action.
