PRIME MINISTER TO CONSULT HARBOUR BOARD QUESTION IN HOUSE (TEE SEX’S Parliamentary Rcpen WELLINGTON, Thurs^ An assurance that the Auckland Harbour Board as controlling authority in the question of the harbour bridge would be consulted before th commission of inquiry into the suL ject was appointed was given in th e House of Representatives this aft&, noon by the Prime Minister (the Rt Hon. Sir Joseph Ward). Hr. W. E. Parry (Auckland Central, in an urgent question asked if, in vie of the large responsibility of the Ao<£. land Harbour Board regarding the proposed harbour bridge, the Prim. Minister would consult the board before the commission was finally a p. pointed. The Auckland members ef Parliament had received circular letters from the board expressing concern at the possibility of the board not being consulted. Would the Prime Minister clear up the board's fear and take steps to see that it was consulted? The Prime Minister said that he recognised that the question was verr important to* the Auckland HarbourBoard, and he would take the oppotunity of consulting the board as controlling authority.
