SUNSHINE ASSOCIATION PLANS STREET COLLECTION The monthly meeting and At Home of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Community Sunshine Association was held in the Assembly Hall, Nelson. Street, on Thursday afternoon. Airs. Ferner, the president, was in the chair, and after the usual business was dealt with, the meeting turned its attention to arrangements for the street collection to be held on September 6. Airs. Ferner welcomed delegates from several societies. Commercial Travellers, Rotary and Girl Guides, and told of friendly offers of help from others who were unable to send representatives. Afternoon tea was served by the social committee of the auxiliary, and the hall looked charming with its little tables and vases of lovely spring flowers. Among those present were Mesdanies Cahill. Kilders. Pratt, Miller, Quartley. Gaudin, McDuff, Gyde. Blomfield, Davies, Eaton, Alillikin, Kerr, Axford. Cooper, Winks, Rollo. Nielsen. Holloway, Eadv. Johnson, Angove, O’Brien, Williamson, Probert, Humphries. BAZAAR AT HUNTLY The town hall at Huntly was the scene of animated activity recently, when a monster bazaar was opened by Air, W. E. George, chairman of the town board, in the unavoidable absence of Air. W. Lee Martin, AI.P. for Raglan, who wrote wishing the committee every success. The object of the bazaar was to raise funds for the parish requirements. The committee responsible for the successful opening was headed by the Rev. Father AI. Curley, parish priest of the Huntly-Ngaruawahia and surrounding districts, and he had associated with him the following committee: Parish secretary. Air. Percy Kirwan; bazaar secretary. Air. T. W. Heffron: women’s committee, Alesdames Hughes, Gordon, Heffron, Lanigan, Trowland. Harmsworth, O’Dea and Braun; Alisses Pat Hughes, Sylvie Heffron, and E. Hackett: ; Messrs. D Hart, N. Harmsworth, Mat Ralph, Jack and Chas. Braun. With an army of junior assistants, tho committee managed the various jumble, produce, sweets, fancy, cake and needlework stalls and sideshows. ’ Business was brisk throughout the evening, and the public support was commendable. v
