FAREWELL PARTY

PAPATOETOE RESIDENTS HONOURED PRESENTATION MADE Air. and Airs. Wainscott, of Huia Road, Papatoetoe, were given a very enjoyable farewell evening on Wednesday prior to their departure for Napier. The dance music was supplied by Air. and Airs. Darby, whose efforts were greatly appreciated. Between dances a number of enjoyable musical items were contributed. During the evening, Air. G. AXcCauley, on behalf of those present, presented the guests with a handsome travelling rug, and wished them every happiness and success in their new surroundings Airs. Wainscott was wearing a frock of sapphire charmeuse. Among those present were: Airs. Darby, who wore a frock of unrelieved black ring velvet; Mrs. Baird, whose frock was of black crepe de chine, with reliefs of blue; Airs. King, in a frock of navy marocain; Airs. Fricker. whose frock was of vieux roae charmeuse; Airs. Christian, frocked in sapphire blue georgette; Airs. McCaulev. in black crepe de chine, with reliefs of gold; Aliss Ross, who wore a frock of art blue georgette; Miss W. Ross, frocked in maize crepe de chine; Aliss Fricker. wearing apricot georgette; Aliss Gladys AlcCauley, whose frock was of lettuce green georgette: Miss Wainscott. in a frock of orchid pink; Miss Audrey NVainscott, frocked in the palest of blue crepe de soie. CARD TOURNAMENT MILFORD CRUISING CLUB’S WEEKLY DRIVE Nine tables were occupied by players at the weekly 500 tournament of the Alilford Cruising Club, held at the clubhouse last evening. After keen competition the prizewinners proved to be Mrs. Chandler and Airs. Adams. At the conclusion of play supper was served by the committee. These weekly drives have been responsible for netting a quite appreciable sum toward the funds of the club.
