SUCCESSFUL YEAR REVIEWED At the annual meeting of the Manure wa Tennis Club, Mr. P. Bradburn presiding, the report stated that the past season hac? been a most successful one. The heavy expenditure incurred in the construction of three new courts had been practically wiped- off. The following officers were elected: Patron, The Karl of Orford; president. Mr. L. W. Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. C. Hand, D. Warlich; hon. secretary, Mr. L. M. Pegler; assistantsecretary and treasurer, Mr. P. Bradburn; general committee, Mrs. Warlich, Mrs. Rushton, Misses K. Harris, K. Grindrod, Messrs. B. Pegler, D. Warlich, K. Light, R. Bennett; grounds committee. Messrs. R. Bennett, K. Light, X. Hawthorne, G. Hawthorne, Gray, C. Maxwell, G. Wood, T. Osborne. B. Pegler; hon. auditor, Mr. J. B. Gilmore; delegates to Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. Messrs. L. W. Smith, L. M. Pegler, P. Bradburn. The opening of the new season was fixed for Saturday. October 19. A vote of appreciation was accorded Mr. F. C. Hand for his donation of a challenge cup for the men’s championship shingles. TAURANGA HOCKEY (From Our Own Correspondent) TAURANGA, Today. The annual hockey tournament for tho Kent Cup (men) and Randel (women) was held on the Domain on Wednesday afternoon, in ideal spring weather conditions.
