In the final of the Australian amateur golf championship today Ryan defeated Sloan Morpeth (New Zealand) fry 2 up and 1 to play, over 36 holes. Morpeth was not quite up to his recent brilliance, and he was unlucky with hu putting. Morpeth won the first three holes &y steady play, but he showed a tendency to leave the fairway. At the turi the scores were 39 each. Morpeth drove out of bounds at the hole, and took 7. and lost the Dole. He had an unplayable lie in a cr ** er at the next hole. Ryan had an excellent 2 at the 16th T-.u liJ rpeth holed out in 4at the hole, of 500yds, his favourite hole. A~®y were all square at the end of morning round. *. in the afternoon Rvan was lup at torn. At the 29th hole Morpeth a “birdie” 3. and the match was Roared.
