Fo» the first time a Hamilton musicai event was broadcast through the agency of IYA with complete success, on , Wednesday evening. -This was the sacred cantata, “The Holy City, ’ which was given a remarkably fine interpretation by Hamilton artists in St. Paul’s Methodist Lnureli. Both choral and solo work ere of a distinctly high standard and the performers have received congratulations from many listeners-in in many parts of the Xorth Island. The artists included Mesdames F. Gadd, V. Clark, T. S. "Webster and Messrs. T. Webster, K. P. Eade, H. Worm and "The Constant Wife,” by Somerset Maugham, has been chosen by the Hamilton Little Theatre Society for its next production. Rehearsals will commence next week. It is understood the forthcoming production of the Hamilton Operatic Society. "Gipsy Love,” will bo broadcast by IYA. Rehearsals have been proceeding satisfactorily and this year’s show promises to be a great success. Father Leen, the assistant priest at the Church of Our Lady of the RosarY, Hamilton East, was given an enthusiastic farewell on Wednesday evening at a social function. The priest, who has been in Hamilj ton for the last three years, lias been j appointed to take charge of the Coroi mandel district. A substantial chcquo I was presented to him by Mr. T.
