BANK RATE INCREASE
PROBABILITY INDICATED . Culled P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 11 a.m. SYDNEY. Today. The probability of an increase in the bank rate is indicated in the half-yearly report of the Commonwealth Bank. The report refers to the unsettled condition of the American money market, and then emphasises that although the bank rate remains at 5$ per cent, in London, rhere is speculation upon the possibility of a hardening rather than a i eduction of the bank rate, which, the report states, is bound to have some reflection in Australia.
