ZEPPELIN OVER KANSAS
MORE THAN HALF-WAY ACROSS U.S. AT LAKEHURST TODAY (United Telegraph Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 9 a.m. KANSAS CITY, Wed. The Graf Zeppelin passed over here at 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning, on her way to Lakehurst, where she will have completed her flight round the world. The Zeppelin, more than half-way across the country, passed here making about 75 miles an hour, making up for the time lost yesterday. At one point, she was seen shaking like a ship in a rough sea, barely moving into head winds. Now, however, tail winds are increasing her speed. Participants in the Cleveland Aircraft Exposition are hoping it will pass there, where the dirigible Los Angeles went today, and Lakehurst is prepared to receive the Zeppelin late tonight. However, a message from Lakehurst says naval radio operators picked up a message Commander Eckener, reporting that the Zeppelin would reach Lakehurst early on Thursday.
