“FLORADORA”
HIS MAJESTY’S TOMORROW “Floradora,” the popular old musical comedy, which has been revived by the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society will be presented for a season of eight nights commencing tomorrow evenjng. The story of “Floradora” deals with many amusing incidents which go to make the course of true love and the manufacture of perfumery run smoothly. “Floradora” is a small island in the Philippines owned by one Fernandez Guisara, who has a daughter Dolores, who falls in love with Frank Abercoed. There are numerous complications arising out of & secret recipe for a famous perfume, “Floradora,” phrenology, and numerous romantic entanglements. One of the scenes is laid on a millionaire’s yacht and another in Abercoed’s Castle in Wales. Several ’talented Aucklanders will b* seen in the leading roles, and an exceptionally good chorus has been trained. The many popular musical numbers include “The Silver Star of Love,” “The Queen of Philippine Islands,” and “Tell Me, Pretty Maiden.” A feature of the play is a Spanish ballet, “Valse de Fleur.” The principal role o* Dolores is played by a new member. Miss Verner Wishart, while the part of the “hero” is taken by Mr. Ernest Snell.
