CANE FOR MR. TAVERNER OTAHUHU BREWERY LICENCE (The SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Today. Taverner, for granting a licence for the brewery on the Great South Road at Otahuhu. Sir Joseph Ward expressed regret that Mr. Taverner had approved- the issue of a licence. He did not think a licence should have been granted. The question should really have come before Cabinet tor its consideration, and he felt sure Cabinet would have been against granting it. In fairness to the Minister concerned, however, it had_jgy Tift “said that he had not had any previous experience in such matters, and- r that it had been the custom in the past for a decision to be made by the Minister.
