feeling parliament alliance must educate I The SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMEIT BLDGS., Today. There is no likelihood of licensing legislation being introduced during the life of the present Parliament, according to a statement by the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, to a deputation from the New Zealand Alliance. •'ln view of the present constitution of the House, there will be no Licensing Bill this session, or probably this Parliament,” he said. “He would not be prepared to foster legislation, because his summing-up showed that the feeling of the House was against it. The New Zealand Alliance would have to exercise more influence on the vote of the people at the next General Election, and to get them more into line with the Alliance’s views. He was certain the present House was not in line with the Alliance’s views.” "It is stronger than last Parliament," said Mr. C. R. Edmond, secretary of the Alliance. Sir Joseph Ward: May be strong, but it is not strong enough. Mr. Edmonds: It would be as well to test it. The Prime Minister: You would not say that if you were in my position.
