REPORT FROM POSTMASTER. GENERAL USE OF LAND SERVICE (The SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS.. Tues. Concerning broadcasting, a report on the Post and Telegraph Department, submitted to Parliament by the Hon. J. B. Donald, the PostmasterGeneral, states that a very interesting fe.ature of broadcasting is the part | that earlier telephone art has played in the development of broadcasting ! service. It may truthfully be said that ! much that passes for the triumph of ! radio is actually the product of the | art of telephony, he said. ! As broadcasting progresses it is ; clear that the use of toll telephone , ! lines for relay purposes is bound to j become more general. It is becoming , j obvious that much of the entertain- | ment radio listeners receive can be \ j brought a considerable part of the . way by land-lines, he added. . | Regarding registration of motor I vehicles the report says if the present ’ j rate of increase is maintained regis , : tration will soon reach the 200,000 L j mark. ____________
