Stayte, in pastel green georgette; Aliss J. Wallis, in almond green silk with needle thread lace: Miss O. Cook, who had on mist blue crepe de fleur, with gold lace of uneven hem; Aliss Ron a Woollams, wearing daffodil georgette; Aliss P. Leatheart, in lettucegreen romanette; Aliss T. Steniar, who wore white georgette and satin: Aliss E. Leythze, whose frock was apricot satin with uneven hem of gold lace. Aliss A'. Thorburn. in a pale pink crepe de chine frock with ecru lace: Aliss E. Hewitt, wearing flame shot taffeta with tulle hem; Aliss Z. Mentzer, frocked in frilled georgette with uneven liem; Miss A'. Nicholls. in gold lace over satin, with uneven hem; Miss D. Casey, whose frock rTf shell pink lace was trimmed with 1 silver. NAVY LEAGUE SUCCESSFUL BRIDGE EVENING PLANS FOR GIFT PARTY’ The final bridge party of the season under the direction of the Auckland Navy League was held at its rooms In Customs Street West last evening. It took the form of flag bridge, and the large entertainment hall had its accommodation taxed to the utmost with enthusiastic players. First prizes were won by Air. and Mrs. Holmes and Air. Carmichael, while consolation gifts were secured by Airs. O’Aleara, Aliss B. Farquhar and Miss Duncan. The arrangements were admirably carried out by the enterprising ladies’ committee, of which Mrs. R. W. Gallaugher is the president. She was assitsed by Airs. R. Streater, Mrs. Mitchelson. Airs. IT. Rainger, Airs. Wright. Airs. Glasgow, Aliss Alorton and Miss Herald. Mr. B. W. Beaumont, secretary of the Navy League, helped materially toward the success of the gathering. Airs. Gallaugher wore a black chenille velvet gown, with black and white brocaded facings. A special feature of the league’s activities will be the gift afternoon to be held at the rooms on Alonday, September 9, when parcels will be prepared for forwarding to sailors* dependants in England. Splendid work has been accomplished in tliis project by members, and it is hoped to have a substantial response from well-wishers of the league.
