ASSAULT ON MOTHER
CHARGE AGAINST SON HEAVY BAIL GRANTED Press Association PALMERSTON N., Monday When Frederick George Paulsen was charged in the Magistrate's Court with committing an aggra vated assault on a female, the police asked for a remand until Thursday and opposed any bail, stating the woman assaulted was accused's mother. Counsel for accused made an appli cation for bail, characterising the police action in this respect as extraordinary. Senior-Sergeant Whiteliouse depositions might have to be taken, and the remand was granted, bail be ing allowed in sureties of £SOO.
