INSURANCE APPOINTMENT
SECRETARY OF f N.Z. COMPANY Mr. Charles Vernon ‘Mark has been appointed to the position of secretary to the New Zealand Insurance Company, in succession to the late Mr. A. L. Parsons. A son of the late Mr. C. F. Mark, who was for many years secretary of the Auckland Trotting Club. Mr. Mark has had wide experience in the company's organisation. Educated at the Auckland Grammar School, and leaving in 1907, he spent three years in the company’s head office, later being transferred to the Auckland branch, where he stayed until 1915. Air. Mark joined the Otago Regiment, and was later transferred to the machine-gun corps, and after gaining his commission on the field saw four years’ active service with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. After the war he was transferred to Japan by his company, and was in charge of the Hong-Koug office for six years. Later he was promoted to Tokyo, and returned to New Zealand last year. Since the death of Mr. Parsons, Air. Mark has been acting-secretary to the company.
