RAILWAYS BUSY
HOLIDAY TRAINS CROWDED MANY CHILDREN TRAVEL The advent of the school holidays has increased business wonderfully on the railways. This morning several extra cars had to be added to the Rotorua express before she left at 10 o’clocn and every car was packed almost to capacity. The Limited from Wellington carried four sleepers instead of the usual three and there was not a vacant berth or seat on the train. On Sat* urday, passengers sat on luggage during the journey from Wellington. This year more people seem to be travelling to the holiday resorts. Whangarei, Helensville, Bay Islands, Rotorua and Tauranga are an popular places, and parents and dulo* ren are taking advantage of the t& duced fares to spend a few weeks away from the city. , Last evening the Limited for v»e* lington carried an extra car and sew-j extra cars were added to the express. Bookings for this week are hea7 and this morning a long queue wa * l .' patiently at the booking-office at t railway station.
