ELSTREE IS BUSY

Several New English Sound Films “TITANIC” DISASTER The studios of England’s Hollywood, Elstree, are busy. Three sound films are being made there by British International Films, and another has been just completed. The talking film, “Atlantic,’.' written round the Titanic disaster, is being made by Herr Dupont. Sounds arising in and around a liner at Tilbury were relayed by telephone to the recording apparatus in the studios during a week-end. “Under the Greenwood Tree,” another sound film, and “The Goodwin Sands,” with sounds and dialogue sequences, are also in production. “The Informer,” which also has dialogue sequences is the completed picture. That silent films also have their future is plainly the belief of this busy British firm, for “Alf’s Carpet,” a farce, with the Continental comedians Pat and Patachon, is being begun. Miss Pola Negri has started work for an independent concern under the same roof.
