TARANAKI SENTENCES
SUPREME COURT SITS Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. In the Supreme Court this morning the Chief Justice, the Hon. M. Myers, gave the following sentences: James Mulally, for breaking, entering, theft and receiving, two years’ reformative detention; Leonard Michael White, for breaking, entering, theft and receiving, two years’ detention in Borstal, Samuel Patrick White, for receiving stolen goods, two years’ Borstal. The Whites are to be sent to separate institutions. Rami Watson, for negligent driving in a motor-lorrv so as to cause death, imprisoned till the rising of the court; Louis Albert Sasten, for negligent driving of a motor-lorry, so as to cause death, a fine of £2OO, in default six: months’ imprisonment. In this case Watson was the employee of Sasten and drove the lorry at night without lights under the instructions of Sasten. Thomas Martin pleaded guilty to two charges of incest. He was remanded till Tuesday for sentence.
