DOCTOR RELEASED

HAS TAKEN UP RESIDENCE IN THE EAST (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Thursday. Lieut.-Colonel Norman Rutherford, who was released from Broadmoor in January on condition that he left England, is said by the “Daily Express” to have taken up his residence in the East. His family has received no direct communication from him since his release. Lieut.-Colonel Norman Rutherford was released from Broadmoor in January. It was understood that he had goue to America. Rutherford was tried in 1919 for the murder of Major Seton, of the Australian Medical Corps. He was found guilty, but insane. The name of Colonel Rutherford was later restored to the medical register. He recovered his sanity. It was officially explained that insanity was not a ground for removing a name from the medical register. Colonel Rutherford’s name merely lapsed, as he could not comply with certain formalities.
