Inter-College Soccer

CHAMPIONSHIP 6? KNOCKOUT FINALS First Round of Falcon Cup SOCCER enthusiasts tomorrow will enjoy the first ‘‘College Day” at headquarters, when the Falcon t up knockout between Thistle and Ponsonby will be preceded by two lively secondary school bouts. The first will be the senior knockout final between Auckland and takapuna Oranuuar Schools, and the second, the senior championship final between Art. Albert Grammar and the Technical College. The following Falcon Cup knockout should prove a lively duel between Thistle and Ponsonby. In the new Senior Cnp Shore meets Onchunga and A .M.C.A. plays Celtic.

It was originally intended to devote the whole of the afternoon at Bland - ford Park to College Soccer, but to clear the way tor the continuation of the competition proper for the Falcon Cup, the starting knock-out between Ponsonby and Thistle will be played at 3 p.ru. Both teams are fresh and evenly matched, and it should provide a ding-dong struggle for survival. It is expected that a record crowd will witness the collegiate finals, and there will be some furious barracking from the pupils and relations of the rival secondary school scholars. Thanks to the untiring efforts ol a. small band 'of enthusiasts, the round ball game is now firmly established in all the public schools.
