THE whistle used by the referee in the All Blacks’ second test match at Brisbane has a history. It was blown by referees in the 1905-6 All Blacks-Cardiff match, the 1908-9 Australian-Car-diff match, the Cardiff-Spring-boks match in 1907, and the 1925 England-New Zealand match.
