GRAND AND LYRIC
TWO FINE PICTURES Both the Grand and Lyric Theatres are offering to their patrons today a dramatic Pox Films production, “The Veiled Woman,” which is said to be one of the most interesting pictures made at the Fox studio this year. It is an absorbing story of Parisian life and types, directed by Emrrett Flynn, who numbers among his directorial successes “A Connecticut Yankee” and “Monte Cristo.” The cast is a brilliant one, headed by two newcomers, Lia Tora, a Brazilian beauty, and Paul Vincenti, a young Hungarian, for both of whom a most successful future is predicted. There is also a number of noted screen players, including Maude George, Walter McGrail, Ivan Lebedeff, Josef. Swickard, Kenneth Thomson and Andre Cheron. “The Veiled Woman” is a picture that should not be missed. The second attraction at both theatres is the silent version of Vilma Banky’s glorious romantic tale, “The Awakening.” This is a story of rural Alsace in the days immediately before the war, with a few scenes of the earliest war period. Walter Byron and Louis Wolheim appear in important roles.
