PAINTER’S DIFFICULTIES Pressure by a creditor forced Henry Lionel Elder, painter, to file in bankruptcy. When he met liis creditors this morning the acting-official assignee, Mr. V. R. Crowhurst, adjourned the case for a month to see if an offer could be made. Elder said he had no permanent employment in view. The total debts, unsecured, were £196 5s 6d, and the assets £29 6s, Elder began business in October, 1926, and nearly a year later shifted to premises nearer Three Lamps at a higher rental. Business was bad in both places, and he paid creditors from his wages. Under examination, he he had not incurred debts since November last year.
