HOKIANGA SAILS

BLACK-LISTED VESSEL USES NON-UNION MEN DISPUTE CONTINUES The auxiliary schooner Hokiauga. owned by A. G. Fraukham, Ltd., which has been declared “black” by the Seamen’s Union, sailed last evening lor Hokianga, after having been loaded by non-union men. The dispute, which is between the owners of the vessel and the Seamen’s Union, was further complicated yesterday when the Railway Department refused to allow non-union men to unload the trucks. However, this was overcome by A. G. Fraukham, Ltd., having the cargo taken to Onehunga by motor-lorries instead of by train. These arrangements proved effective, and the Hokianga was dispatched with her usual amount of cargo.
