BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

CARDS AND MUSIC An enjoyable birthday party was given by Mrs. Radford, of Green Lane, for Mrs. B. Morrison. Cards and music passed a very pleasant time, and a dainty supper was served. The winners for cards were Mrs. S Cole and Mr. Short, while consolation prizes were won by Mrs. W. Williams: and Mr. Rogers. Mrs. Radford received the guests wearing a black crepe de chine and lace frock. Mrs. Morrison wore oyste’ grey silk relieved with blue. Those present were:—Mrs. F- Morrison. Mr. and Mrs. W. Williams. MrsS. Cole, Mr. and Mrs. A. Auger. Mr. and Mrs. Farlane, Mr. and Mrs. Short, Mrs. Noakes, Miss M. Jack, Mr. Campbell, Mr. Thompson. Mrs. Pivack, Mr. Rosrers and Mr. and Mrs. B. Morrison. WAITEMATA ATHENIANS The next social evening of the TOaitemata Athenian Club will be held in the clubroom, Takapuna, on Saturday evening. This departure from club’s schedule has been necessitated in order to avoid clashing with * he Auckland Athenians. Saturday's meeting will be a revel based upon the exploits of “The Mad Hatter’’ of “Alice in Wonderland.” Ij is freely rumoured that many weird and wonderful creations in the way oi “freak’’ hats will be seen at the gathernig, and, in addition, the club committect has arranged an excellent concert programme.
