BERLIN COMPANY PROVIDES SENSATION t Australian and X.Z. Press Association) BERLIN. Wednesday. A sensation has been created iu financial circles in Berlin by the news that the General Insurance Company, the second largest company in Germany, is on the verge of catastrophe. Its purely insurance reserves are intact, but recently it engaged in outside business, including tlxe financing of instalment sales of motor-cars to support small banks. As a result the company now is responsible for guarantees amounting to £8,000,000. including £2,000,000 to British and Swiss financiers.
