Jarvie, a member of Parliament, on the latter’s return from Queensland. It is understood this action has reference to a suggestion that Major Jarvie should resign his seat and seek re-election. He was recently acquitted by a jury on a criminal charge arising out of an alleged attempt to bribe the late Chief Secretary. Mr. A. Bruntnell, after a Royal Commission had found against him.
