NEW NAME PROPOSED
TAKAPUNA WEST AREA At a meeting of the Taka puna Western Area Ratepayers’ and Residents* Association, the president, Mrs. J. C. Blomfield. suggested that it was time the district was given a suitable name. It was decided to submit the name of ‘Parklands” for approval to the Takapuna Borough Council. It was decided to appoint a beautifying committee to lay out some of the reserve ground on the main road and other parts, and to plant, trees in front of Taharoto Park. It was also decided to prevent the destruction of trees in the area. The president reported that the association was progressing very favourably, the membership having reached more than 50 in three weeks.
