JASPER’S CONCERT
PROMINENT ARTISTS MAORI RECORDING SINGERS For the concert and gramophone recital in the Town Hall this; evening to help the Rev. Jasper Calder in work at the Auckland City Mission prominent performers’ services ha\o been secured. The entertainment begins at 7ij p.m., and there will be several hours of excellent music. Besides popular Auckland singers and dancers, a special attraction will be the appearance of Miss Ana Hate soprano, and Deane Waretini bariton*’ the well-known Maori recording aru ists of Rotorua. They will sing native songs in costume. Mr. Barry Coney will sing a gram! opera number. Miss \Nellie Lingard “Buttercup’s Song,” and another singer will be Miss Irene Frost, contralto. Miss Joyce Howie will appear in dance numbers and a classical iari'e will be given by Miss Mollie Woollcoft, Violin items will be played by Master Harold Taberner and Madame Edith Baird lias arranged the “Sailors' Hornpipe” with a full ballet, and the Toy. maker’s Dream.” The gramophone recital will be jiven with a special demonstration machine, an electrical reproducer. All the proceeds go to assist the work at the City Mission.
