PRINCIPAL PRAISED
EDUCATION BOARD’S APPRECIATION MR. H. G. COUSINS’S WORK Praise for the service of Mr. H. G. Cousins, who is retiring from the position of principal of the Auckland Training College, was offered at the Education Board this morning. A resolution of appreciation of Mr. Cousins’s work was carried. “Mr. Cousins made a hobby of his college,” the chairman, Mr. A. Burns, said. “He has had a splendid career and has had an excellent influence over the trainees at the college. Mr. Cousins is going from his position voluntarily and his departure will be regretted. He specialised in education.” Mr. Burns mentioned that the principal had been in the service of the board since 1887. In 1916, he became acting-principal, and was definitely appointed as principal in 1920.
