RAILWAYS SUPERANNUATION

RESULTS OF YEAR’S WORK (The SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Tuesday. A slight increase in the balance of income over expenditure for the year ended March 31, 1929, is shown in the annual report of the Government Railways Superannuation Fund, presented to Parliament this afternoon. The balance of income over expenditure stands at £127,548 2s 9d. as against £125,255 13s Id for the previous year. Members’ contributions show a steady increase, being £166,439 3s 3d, as compared with £155,600 4s 6d for the previous year, an increase of £7,838 ISs 9d. During the year the sum of £170,000 was paid into the fund as a subsidy by the Working Railways Account. Expenditure on life . allowances for members is £240,710 5s 4d, an increase of £12,849 9s lid over the figures for last year. The Investment Account of the fund increased during the year to the extent of £125,000.
