MOSQUITO INFECTION
Sir.— It has come to my knowledge from a very reliable source that our mosquito research officer, Mr. David Graham, is contemplating leaving Auckland for other fields, where there will be more scope, more appreciation of his work, and less red tape. After all, the work this gentleman has accomplished in endeavouring to rid Auckland of the eight species of mosquito breeding in our city, and to prove to us the possibility of the introduction of malaria, it behoves the authorities and the public to strive to hold this officer. It is concrete fact that this officer is, and has been, working 90 hours a week on this vital and important question. Are we going to let him depart at this period, when he has so much valuable data concerning the mosquito’s city breeding grounds? Surely not. ANTI-APATHETIC SUFFERER.
