SECOND HIGHWAYS BOARD
MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL OPPOSES PROPOSAL The proposal to form a second Main Highways Board for the South Island was opposed at a meeting of the Manakau County Council held this morning. It was the feeling of the meeting that the control of the main highways in either island was of interest to the whole of the country, and consequently should be a Dominion affair, controlled by one Main Highways Board. After a short discussion it was decided to support the executive of the New Zealand Counties' Association in opposing the proposal.
