STRUGGLE FOR CHILD
DRUNKEN PARENTS FINED (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Monday. A tug-of-war for possession of a four-year-old child on Victoria Street, Hamilton, on Saturday, led to the parents, Sydney Andrew Scott and Ruby Scott, being arrested. In the Police Court today the man was charged with being disorderly while drunk, and the woman witn being drunk. They did not appear in court. Constable Harris said he saw the accused pulling a child in different directions, and behaving in a disorderly manner. Both were drunk. They were taken into custody and the child was handed over to the care of the Child Welfare Department. Scott was fined £2, and his wife was fined 10s. q
