SUBURBAN TRAFFIC CONTROL
MANUREWA DISSATISFIED That the business of the combined transport committee of the Otahuliu Borough Council and the Papatoetoe and Manurewa Town Boards is not being carried out in a satisfactory manner, was the opinion expressed by Mr. Fawcett at last evening’s meeting of the Manurewa Town Board. The question came up for discussion when the clerk read an account from the Otahuhu Borough Council, totalling £lls 19s 5d for the half-year’s payment toward the traffic: inspector’s expenses, and including the board’s share of the cost of the inspector’s motor-car. The inspector’s salary accounted for £44 17s, office expenses £7 ; 15is Bd, and share of cost of car £63 6s 9d„ Mr. Gallaher said that refunds off the cost of the car were to be made by the inspector, but up to date no credit had been passed by the Otahuhu Borough Council. It was agreed to pay £52 12s 8d off the account, and to ask the Otahuhu Borough Council when the repayments are due. The question of the readjustment of the car account was left in the hands of Mr. Fawcett to confer with the Otahuhu Borough Council.
