TAUMARUNUI
The following team has been selected by Mr. A. E. Rice to represent King Country against Wellington on August 31:—Fullback, Weo (Mania po to); threequarters, Hartwell (Maniapoto), Carlson (Taumarunui). Leathan (Ruapehu); five-eighths, W. Jones (Taumarunui), Plank (Ruapehu); halfback, Finlay (Taumarunui); rover. Burr (Ruapehu); hookers, Ronaldson (Maniapoto), Eden (Taumarunui); lock, Kingi Wetere (Maniapoto); sides, Skilton (Taumarunui), Retermeyer (Kawhia); back row, Roddick (Taumarunui), Wind (Ohura). Emergencies:—Forwards, Faulke (Maniapoto), Morrow (Ruapehu); backs, Kino (Maniapoto). Lee (Taumarunui). A match which held a good deal of interest at Taumarunui on Saturday, that between North and South King Country, was spoiled by heavy rain. The game had been arranged by the King Country Rugby Union for the of selecting the players to carry King Country colours 'against Wellington. The first try went to South as the result of a pretty passing movement, Nicholls, Jones, Carlson. Leathan. When South had reached eight points, Ronaldson added a triple mark for North, and the game began to get lively. At half-time the
figures were: South. 8; North, 6. Faulke piled on a winning three for North just as time was sounded.
