Several sales of Union Banks were made this morning in scrip registered in Melbourne. New Zealands are very firm at 635. The timber group continues idle, and practically neglected. Kauris are slightly weaker, with sellers at 18s 4d supported by a nominal buyer at 17s tid.
Bycrofts saw their first recorded sale since the payment of the last dividend «t 345. At this price the return, based on the latest dividend, is approximately £4 14s Id per cent. Colonial Sugars are slightly weaker, buyers only offering £ 57 this morn-
ing. compared with a market at £sf 7s Bd at the close of last week.
Mahakiwawa Goldfields, Ltd. A circular recently issued to shareholders in the Mahakipawa Goldfields, Ltd., states that unless a new issue of share capital can be raised in the near future the company will have no option hut to wind up its affairs.
