Decorative Scheme of Blue and Gold
BAYFIELD OLD SCHOLARS
The Bayfi«ld Old Scholars’ Lawn Tennis Club held a very successful dance in the Point Erin Park Kiosk on Saturday evening. The decorations were carried out in the club colours, blue and gold. Graceful festoons of streamers and bunting, shaded lights, and greenery presented a pleasing appearance, while the club initials in gold letters and a large tennis racket strung with blue and gold gave an appropriate touch to the scene.
Committee members present were: Miss F. Smytheman, who wore delphinium blue georgette with diamente relief; Miss Gwen Jones, in rose pink georgette with rose and silver lace; Miss Marjorie Green, who chose blue georgette over pink satin.
Among the dancers were: Mrs. E. M. Lucena, who wore black crepe de chine, embroidered in gold; Mrs. A. E. Schade, in black velvet, with hem of fur; Miss G. Buchanan, who chose lemon tulle with uneven hem and handpainted shawl to tone; Miss Nancye Staples, in a black sequined model with lemon tulle bow; Miss A. Dawson-Welsh, wearing jade green ankle length frock of satin beaute; Miss L. Kennedy, who was in apricot georgette with floral trimming; Miss L. Jamieson, who wore rose du Barri crepe de chine; Miss L. M. Thompson, who chose black lace with red shoulder spray; Miss F. Swan, in eau de nil georgette and shoulder posy of pink flowers; Miss Jean Cairns, who wore almond green crepe de chine and sequin trimmings; Miss P. Beswick, who had on apple green georgette, and gold lace; Miss Elina Beale, who chose ivory net and satin, with handkerchief points; Miss H. Hardley, wearing mimosa chiffon velvet, vandyked in geranium; Miss E. Swan, who wore sea green chenille velvet and georgette.
Miss G. Darvell, who was in laurel embossed crepe de chine; Miss Gladwyn Chapman, picture taffeta and diamente, with wedgwood blue fringed shawl to match; Miss L. Edwards, who wore beige georgette and lace, with rose and gold wrap; Miss Joyce Burnett, in silver lame with skirt of silver lace over tulle; Miss T.. Hammond, who chose black georgette and lace; Miss F. Johnson, who was in shell pink georgette; Miss Nance Tuckey, who wore jade green georgette over silver lace; Miss Esme Canmpbell, in a french lace frock worn over silver; Miss C. Duncan, in a ciel blue georgette frock; Miss Hilda Barbour, wearing moonlight crepe de chine; Miss A. Gascoine, who wore flame velvet and gold lace; Miss Frances Kell, in a frock of wistaria taffeta; Miss B. Hemus, who chose lacquer red georgette with uneven hem. Miss N. Connolly, in powder blue taffeta; Miss K. Hammond, who wore a powder blue georgette frock, ankle length; Miss O. Totman, in mauve and silver lace with georgette frills; Miss M. Cato, in a gown of leaf green taffeta; Miss Gladys Copeland, who chose apricot taffeta, trimmed with willow green; Miss Couper, in a frock of black chiffon velvet; Miss G. Cleghorn, in a gown of lemon embossed georgette with large gold bow; Miss R. Lovegrove, wearing scarlet ring velvet and silk net; Miss M. Horsley, who chose delphinium georgette and gold lace; Miss F. Saunders, who wore spring green frilled silk net; Miss K. Hammond, in powder blue georgette. Miss L. Newcombe, wearing pale pink lame and georgette; Miss P. Irving, who had on a bouffant frock of green crepe de chine with silver trimming; Miss M. Irving, who chose gold lame and blue crepe de chine; Miss J. Morrison, who was in powder blue crepe de chine, with posy to tone; Miss J. Hardley, who wore blue d’amour embossed chenille georgette; Miss Edna Denham, wearing ivory crepe de chine and net. with satin bow; Miss J. Bennie, who wore bois de rose taffeta and georgette with shoulder posy; Miss R. Morrison, wearing sunset shot taffeta with posy to tone.
