Mrs. Mervyn Reed was a visitor to Christchurch for Grand National week. Miss M. Hey wood, of Remuera, is the guest of Mrs. Heywood in Claudelands. Lady Ferguson, of Dunedin, is in Auckland and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Miss Joan Robertson, of Auckland, is the guest of the Misses Vickery in Hamilton. Mrs. Norman Thornes, 'of Auckland, is visiting her mother, Mrs. A. H. Tompkins, in Hamilton. * * * Miss C. Holdsworth, who has been away from New Zealand for some time, returned by the Rimutaka, which arrived in Auckland on Saturday. * * * Mrs. W. J. Jordan was the speaker at the meeting of the Onehunga branch of the League of Mothers, held in the Orphans’ Hall, Onehunga, on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. N. S. Benfeil presided over a good attendance of members. Miss A. C. O'Neill returned to Auckland on Saturday by the Rimutaka from a visit to Great Britain. While in England Miss O’Neill, who represented the Mothers’ Union of Auckland, stayed for some time at Sumner House, the headquarters of the union.
WAIKATO NOTES
Mrs. G. R. Barnett, of Hamilton, is .a visitor to Wanganui. Mrs. Sidney Simmons has returned to Hamilton from Tauranga. Mrs. I*. E. Wylie has returned to Hamilton from a holiday in Sydney. Mrs. Des. Williams has returned to Te Awamutu from a holiday in Dunedin. Mrs. H. Valder and Miss Norah Valder, of Hamilton, are at present in Tauranga. *3 * * Mrs. A. Painter, who-has been staying with Mrs. A. E. Rowe, in Hawera, has returned to her home in Renwick, Marlboro ifgh.
