R. A- Wright, M.P., arrived from Wellington this morning and will spend tho week-end in Auckland.

Sir Georgo Fowlds, who has been visiting Wellington, returned to Auckland this morning.

Sir James Gunson returned to Aucki.nd by the Limited this morning after a short visit to Wellington.

Archbishop Averill. Primate of New Zealand, accompanied by Archdeacon Simkin has returned to Auckland after visiting Wellington.

Archdeacon Hawkins, the Rev. Cecil Watson and Mr. C. J. Tunks returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning.

Mr. F. Firth of Oratia, will represent fruit exporters of the .Auckland province as a delegate at the approaching Export Conference at Wellington.

General E. J. Higgins, leader of the Salvation Army, who will visit New Zealand next year, is expected to arrive in the Dominion on February 24.

The following Auckland members of parliament returned by the Limited this morning:—Messrs. W. J. Jordan, H. R. Jenkins, J. S. Fletcher, G. C. Munns and W. Hall.

The Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public Works, and Mr. J. B. Thompson, Under- Secretary of Lands, are due in Auckland this evening. They will ftay at the Grand Hotel.

Mr. G. F. Booth, rector of the Port Chalmers High School, will retire at the end of next month from the Education Board's service, after 49 years of teaching. Mr. Booth has been at port Chalmers for the last 21 years.

Captain W. A. Wildman, sen., has retired from the Anchor Shipping Company after 53 years of service. Tie has commanded all the company’s vessels at one time or another. Since 1916 Captain Wildman has been continuously or the Nelson-Wellington run.—P.A.
