Round the Churches
The warden of St. John’s College will conduct the morning service at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and in the evening the will preach. The 11 a.m. service at St. Matthew’s will be conducted by the Rev. F. Carew Thomas, and in the evening the Right Rev. Bishop Anderson will preach. * * * The Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher will preach at 11 a.m. at the Beresford Street Church, and in the evening he will preach on “The Greatest Crisis in Life.” * * * Mr. H. F. Robinson will be the speaker at 11 a.m. at the Higher Thought Temple, and at 7 p.m. Mr. T. W. Silcock will speak on “Pyramid, Prophecy, Power—Which?” The morning service at the Pitt Street Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev. W. Rowe, and at the evening service, which will be broadcast, the Rev. W. Walker will be the preacher. “The Diadems of the Redeemer” will be the subject taken by the Rev. J. W. Kemp at the service at 3 p.m. in the Unity Hall. * * * At 7 p.m. at the Community Mission in the Zealandia Hall, Dominion Road, the Rev. George Jackson will be the preacher. * * * The Rev. L. Horwood will preach 11 a.m. at the Methodist Central Mission. In the evening Mr. Horwood will preach at the Strand Theatre on “Religion or Revolution.” Part of the film “Scaramcuche” will b« shown. * * * The Rev. W. Gilmour will preach at both services at the Edehdale Presbyterian Church, where the 41st anniversary will be celebrated. The Rev. J. Pattison will conduct both morning and evening services at the Somervell Presbyterian Church. * * * Mrs. Harris-Roberts will speak on “The Reality of the Invisible” at 7 p.m. at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church. * # * The 25th church anniversary will be celebrated at the Grange Road Baptist Church. The Rev. W. Walker will speak in the morning, and the Rev. A. S. Wilson in the evening. * * + The Rev. J. G. Hughes will speak at 7 p.m. service at the Progressive Church of Spiritualists, Alma Street, Newmarket. A circle will follow. * * * The Rev. W. A. Sinclair will speak at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Methodist Church, and at 7 p.m., when the monthly musical service will be held, the Rev. Arthur Mitchell will preach. The First Church of Christ, Scientist, will hold service at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the church hall, Symonds Street. Mr. R. E. Dowle will speak on “Genuine Patriotism” at 7 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, St. Heliers. * * * The men’s brotherhood will hold a service at the Y.M.C.A. at 4.15 p.m. Other services will be held on Tuesday and Thursday. ♦ * * Mr. J. E. A. Gates will preach at 6.45 p.m. at the meeting of the International Bible Students* Association in the Masonic Hall. * * * The 75th anniversary will be celebrated at the Waipu Presbyterian Church next Sunday. In the morning the Rev. Angus MacDonald will preach and the Rev. William McDonald in evening.
