DUNLOP—MUTTON The marriage of Matilda Mary, second daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. R. Mutton, of Te Puke, to Robert Dunlop, elder son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Dunlop, was celebrated in the St. John's Church. Te Puke, on Wednesday. Ivory georgette with modish uneven hemline was worn by the bride, who entered the church on the arm of Mr. C. L. Duke. A beautiful lace veil and bouquet of pale pink spring flowers completed the toilet. Miss A. Mutton attended her sister end wore a frock of deep blue crepe tie chine with gold net headdress. Mr. S. Campbell attended the bridegroom The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s mother. Mrs. Mutton received her guests wearing a frock of wine marocain. TE AWAMUTU BRIDE SMITH—HINTON The marriage took place at Te Awamutu Presbyterian Church recently of Klla, youngest daughter of Mr. C. Hinton and the late Mrs. Hinton, of Te Awamutu, and Ralph, son of Mrs. Smith, of Pakerangi. Th© bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was attired in a smart brown costume, with hats and furs to tone, and she carried a bouquet of jonquils, daphne and maiden-hair fern. Mr. Roy Hinton. brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man. After th© ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s father, where the usual toasts were honoured. Mr. and Mrs. Smith will make their future home at Kio Kio. ENGAGEMENTS ANNOUNCED The engagement is announced of Jeannie Gordon, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Fowlie, of Remuera, to Reginald Archer, youngest son of Mr. and the late Mr. G. The ankle-length skirt was finished with tiny silver ribbon bows. The tulle veil was arranged cap fashion, and was held in place with a band of silver ribbon and sprigs of orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet of sweet peas and roses, mingled with maidenhair fern. Miss Effie Mansell attended as maid, froc-kcd in larkspur blue georgette relieved with motifs of guipure lace. Her headdress was of silver tissue, and she Carried a bouquet of flowers to tone with her frock. The groom was attended by Mr. Vaughan Morgan. The bride travelled in a smart ensemble of silver grey marocain. worn with a fur-trimmed cloth coat, and small felt hat. Mrs. Rea, mother of the bride, wore a smart frock of navy blue wool repp, with small navy hat and fox furs. She carried a posy of violets. Mrs. Mansell was f rocked in black silk marocain, with relief of grey, and small grey hat. Her bouquet was of golden jonquils. St. John's Church hall was prettily decorated for the reception, Mrs. D. Rea acting as hostess. Among the. guests present were: Mr. and Mrs. J. Rea, Master D. Rea. Misses Iv. and W. Mansell. Master D. Mansell, Mr. and Mrs. W. Johnston (Auckland). CITY MISSION CONCERT The City Mission gave a delightful concert this week in the St. Matthew’s Hall. The programme was arranged by Mrs. Bethune. Items were contributed by the following: Mr. Attwill (recitations). Mrs. Bethune (song). Misses Joyce and .Tean Clarke (operatic dance), Mr. O’Kane (humorous sketch). FLOWER SOCIAL AT MANUREWA Mr. W. M. Carroll, home missioner of the Manurewa district, presided over a large attendance of members and friends of the Manurewa Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild at a very enjoyable flower social held in the Manurewa Presbyterian Church on Thursday evening. A flower guessing competition was the principal and most interesting item of the evening, and the keenness of the competitors resulted in a draw between Mrs. Farm inter and Miss Feri The trophy for the most original flower badge was awarded to Mr. j Arthur Bodle. 1 A very enjoyable programme of items ! was contributed by Miss G.
