F. W. Dawson, who has been appointed manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland in succession to Mr J- B - Henry, arrived from the south by the Limited this morning.

Mr. K C. Cutten, S.M., has been appointed a member of the Auckland, Waiterrata and Parnell Licensing Committees in place of Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.

His Honour Mr. Justice Blair and Messrs L. J. Schmitt and A. L. Monteith, members of the Arbitration Court, will arrive in Auckland next Wednesday.

Mr. White-Wickham, of London, the *ell'known deep-sea angler, "intends revisiting New Zealand on a deep-sea rshing expedition. Leaving England next month, he will spend the summer among the raako and swordfish north of Auckland.

Mr. L. A Paish. the successor to Mr. I* B. Beale as British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, will arrive in the Dominion at the end of this month. Mr. Paish left England on July 26, sailing on the Comorin, coming to this country via Australia, and is due in New Zealand in three weeks’ lime.

The Minister of Public Works, the Hon. E. A. Ratsom, will arrive at Huntly tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock and will make a tour of the Waikato River as far as Rangiriri in order to *ee the shoals which have formed in the river.
