NEW MT. ALBERT SCHOOL
The new school in Richardson Road, nn tho south side of Mount Albert, oe opened on September 10. 01* relieve congestion at the Gladstone and Edendale Schools. There are four rooms in the school, and the 101 l will be about 220, with provision . ’ to standard five. For some time, ccommodation lias been taxed at the h °°if to be reeved, and the Educaion Board showed foresight when it h°hs severa * years ago, four acres the mountain in an area then thinly populated. Gladstone’s present i*oll is 770, although there is suitable accommoda--OIJ tor about 600 only. The new school * not interfere with the present i£h grade of < Jladstone. From Gladstone about 120 pupils will be trans;red, about 60 from Edendale, and Probably 20 from Avondale. There may e up to 30 children who will attend irom the new district, th ° ®tondard six will be provided in no meantime. Until a definite arrangement is made upon the settling roll, a temporary headmaster WUI be appointed.
