TOM HEENEY BEATEN ON TECHNICAL K.O. hard, slogging bout (United PA.—Vy Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 3 p.m. NEW YORK, Thursday. Campolo, the Argentina heavyweight, beat Tom Heeney, New Zealand, by a technical knock-out in their fight today. Campolo scaled 15st. 131 b. and Heeney 14st. Sib. The Argentinian was a seven-to-five favourite. FIRST ROUND Heeuey started an immediate body attack. Campolo retaliated with three hard uppercuts to the heart. They were settling to a fast and furious pace. Campolo rocked Heeney with a series of lefts and rights to the face. Heeney rushed the Argentinian to the ropes, and Campolo was spitting blood. It was Heeney’s round. SECOND ROUND Campolo appeared leg • weary. Heeney resumed boring-in tactics. Thu Argentinian drove a hard right to Heeney’s face, and Tom blinked. Then ,ame another that put Heeney on his fleets. Campolo was carrying the attack to the New Zealander. It was Campolo's round. THIRD ROUND They were punching hard all the time, both assimilating much punishment. Heeney was red under the heart from the Argentinian's punches, hut the crowd was on its feet applauding the New Zealander’s mauling of his opponent. It was Heeney’s round. FOURTH ROUND Heeney almost floored Fhe Argentinian with a tremendous right to the chin. Campolo was holding on. Heeney kept following his man. who was apparently groggy, punishing Campolo viciously. This also was Heeney’s round. FIFTH ROUND Tom lost his balance and almost fell Campolo was fighting back. Both seemed tired. The Argentinian assumed an aggressive lead, and hurt his opponent, who took everything to get to close quarters. Heeney was bleeding from the left ear. It was Campolo’s round. SIXTH ROUND This round was even, the same exchange of heavy punching predominating. SEVENTH ROUND Campolo was scoring with both fists, and carrying the attack. He took the round. EIGHTH ROUND Heeney's body was badly bruised and he had a slight cut on the lower

lip. Campolo floored Tom with a right to the stomach, but the latter was up without the count. He was in bad shape. The Argentinian, however, was slow to follow up his advantage. Again it was Campolo’s round.

Ted Sandwina (England) knocked out Phil Mercuri (New York heavyweight) in the ninth round.
